Oh, it’s just a box: inmate escapes from German prison, Solid Snake style.

November 16th, 2008 by Earl

Think Solid Snake (from Metal Gear Solid) hiding under a cardboard box is as ridiculous as Clark Kent’s glasses? Well, think again. Some guy in a German prison managed to cut his sentence short thanks to a cardboard box.

The 42-year-old Turkish citizen climbed into the cardboard box and mailed himself out of prison. By express courier no less. If they ever suspected that it moved, they probably thought “oh, it’s just box.”

Once the courier passed through the gates, the inmate cut a hole in the tarp and made a run for it. The man is still at large, and I think he’s a genius!

Fresh Start

November 15th, 2008 by Dan

Davis, Earl, and I will be starting 3 seperate blogs. Most of the posts here will be moved to Davis’s blog. This blog will be restarted, and new anti-spam measures will be put into place. On top of this there will probably be a new theme.

This is being done for the sake of organization and consistency of the content. Our blogs will still link to each other.

Claytronics (Programmable Matter)

October 13th, 2008 by Earl

Programmable Matter

“Claytronics” is an emerging field of engineering concerning reconfigurable nanoscale robots (’claytronic atoms‘, or catoms) designed to form much larger scale machines or mechanisms. Also known as “programmable matter“, the catoms will be sub-millimeter computers that will eventually have the ability to move around, communicate with other computers, change color, and electrostatically connect to other catoms to form different shapes. The forms made up of catoms could morph into nearly any object, even replicas of human beings for virtual meetings.

How to format your Memory Stick to FAT

October 7th, 2008 by Earl

If your like me, then you like to play ISO’s from your Memory Stick on your PSP.

I have a PSP Slim with Firmware 4.01 M33-2, and I tried to play GTA - Liberty City Stories from the MS, in ISO format, while overclocked at 333mhz, but when driving a car or bike, it lagged so horribly that i was unable to play.

I left it at that for about 4 months, thinking i was unable to play :(

Then I came to the solution that Formatting the Memory Stick to FAT instead of FAT32 was the solution! Here’s how to do it.

Spanish Grammar: Preterite and Imperfect

October 5th, 2008 by Davis

Both preterite and imperfect are what English speakers would call “past tense.”
Uses of the preterite tense:
* For actions that can be viewed as single events
* For actions that were repeated a specific number of times
* For actions that occurred during a specific period of time
* For actions that were part of a chain of events
* To state the beginning or the end of an action

Uses of the imperfect tense:
* For actions that were repeated habitually
* For actions that “set the stage” for another past action
* For telling time
* For stating one’s age
* For mental states (usually)
* For physical sensations (usually)
* To describe the characteristics of people, things or conditions

Regular endings if the infinitive of the verb ends in -ar:
